About The Position

Under the direction of the Senior Branch Executive, the Director of Strength & Conditioning will directly oversee the design, implementation and growth of the strength and conditioning offerings for the association and ensure that the quality of all programs and offerings related to are meeting industry standards with a focus on athlete assessment and evaluation, program design & periodization, strength & conditioning implementation, Injury prevention & recovery management, performance monitoring & data analysis, and athlete education & communication. The Program Director leads and develops staff, fosters a culture of collaboration and excellence, and ensures programs meet industry standards and community needs. Responsible for operational excellence, financial stewardship, and program quality, the Program Director ensures effective use of resources, safe and welcoming environments, and measurable outcomes. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in exercise science, athletic training or equivalent.
  • One to two years related experience preferred.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community, track record of building authentic, constructive relationships with others.
  • Current CPR/First Aid/O2 certification.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed.
  • Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  • Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
  • Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information, may organize and schedule program registrations.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
  • Assists in the development and monitoring of program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
  • Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.
  • Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.
  • Ensures consistent program evaluation, quality improvement, and alignment with YMCA standards.
  • Develops, manages, and monitors operating budgets; ensure fiscal responsibility and achievement of revenue goals.
  • Creates experiences that promote member connection, retention, and satisfaction.
  • Ensures adherence to all YMCA policies, safety regulations, and best practices.
  • Leads assigned YMCA fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
  • Completes additional duties assigned in support of the YMCA mission.
