The Program Director is responsible for planning and directing through subordinate supervisory personnel, the effective management and delivery of quality clinical services for a defined residential, corrections substance abuse treatment program. The role involves overseeing and directing program activities and staff related to administrative support, record keeping, billing, and financial reporting. The Program Director will interview, hire, oversee the training and development of, schedule, assign work to, evaluate the performance of, and when necessary, discipline and discharge subordinate supervisors. Ensuring continued compliance with established personnel policies and achievement of objectives for professional growth and development of staff is crucial. The Program Director will establish and implement an appropriate service delivery system for the treatment program, promoting continuous improvement in methods of delivery of treatment and services, revising and developing program standards, implementing appropriate corrective actions to resolve discrepancies, and ensuring adherence to contracts, regulations, and license requirements. Additionally, the Program Director will develop program budget projections, monitor and approve expenditures, and initiate corrective actions to resolve variances. Regular and special reports or analyses on financial status and program results and activities will be prepared for review and use by managers and executives in planning and evaluating program activities, services, and results. The role also includes participating in developing program goals and objectives, designing and implementing appropriate plans to meet agreed-upon goals, and assisting subordinate supervisors in developing and meeting appropriate goals and objectives for their areas of responsibility. Conducting meetings with program staff to review goals, objectives, routine and special activities, and short- and long-term plans is also part of the responsibilities.
