The Program Director provides leadership for Catholic Charities' Feeding Our Neighbors Program (FON), a long-standing emergency food service addressing food insecurity for vulnerable New Yorkers for over 40 years. Reporting to the Division Director of Food and Housing Stability, the Program Director manages food inventory and operations, including a $7+ million annual food budget and initiatives to combat food insecurity. Responsibilities include overseeing distribution, warehousing, inventory, quality control, and supporting an extensive emergency food pantry network across NYC, Westchester, and the Lower Hudson Valley. This role leads a dedicated team and collaborates with community partners to secure resources for program success. Location: Bronx Center - 402 East 152nd Street, Bronx, NY Essential Duties and Responsibilities Program Management Oversee daily operations, including 38+ pantries and Hub activities. Provide guidance for SNAP and case management services. Manage warehousing, distribution, logistics, inventory control, and data collection. Implement protocols to improve efficiency, streamline operations, minimize waste, and forecast needs. Staff and Volunteer Management Supervise FON Management Team. Recruit, train, and manage staff and volunteers. Ensure adequate staffing levels and foster a positive, inclusive work environment. Fundraising and Resource Development Manage program budget and oversee expenditures. Assist with funding applications and reporting requirements. Coordinate data collection, contract deliverables, and metrics. Community Engagement Identify unmet needs and organize parish/community initiatives. Advocate for underserved populations and equitable access to resources. Stay informed on hunger, nutrition, and related policy trends. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time exempt position. Days and hours of work are generally 9:00 AM to 5 PM Monday - Friday. Additional hours, holidays and weekends may be required to meet program deadlines or client needs. Working conditions and physical demands required: The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. To conduct site visits and outreach approximately 50% of the time, use public transportation or traverse city streets, occasionally ascend/descend stairs, and be exposed to outside weather. Ability to work with the public and client population in underserved communities Participate in special events, meetings, forums, etc. at least 25% of the time.
