About The Position

The position involves overseeing the Master of Arts in Psychology program at Dallas Baptist University (DBU). This includes responsibilities such as teaching, advising, recruiting, and staffing for the program in collaboration with the dean and other faculty members. The faculty member is expected to embody the Christian mission of DBU and adhere to the Christian Code of Conduct.

Requirements

  • Must be a Christian and a member of a church that holds to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing in the New and Old Testaments of the Holy Bible.
  • Terminal degree in the field of Psychology with appropriate licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Serve in the recruiting process for the MAP program, including follow-up of requests for information and formulation of advertising/publicity materials.
  • Review and evaluate applications for admission to the graduate program.
  • Represent the MAP program at professional meetings, University committees, and Graduate Program Committees.
  • Develop semester schedules, including the assigning of instructors and adjuncts.
  • Locate, interview, and recommend adjuncts for the program.
  • Supervise the development and updating of curriculum.
  • Develop and update the annual budget each spring and review budget and expenses throughout the fiscal year.
  • Plan and conduct work in conformity with the Academic Calendar published on Blackboard.
  • Develop appropriate course syllabi in Concourse located in Blackboard, ensuring they are available to students two weeks before the first-class day.
  • Model excellence in teaching and scholarship in the classroom.
  • Integrate faith and learning throughout course development to prepare students for their respective callings.
  • Employ instructional techniques and policies that align with DBU's mission statement.
