Lincoln Land Community College's Program Director of Diesel Technologies provides leadership and direction for Programs under Diesel Mechanics including maintaining compliance with any accreditation and safety standards. It also provides coordination of all activity within the programs; instruct program courses; and ensure sound operation of the program and equipment. As a staff member at LLCC, you can look forward to 23 paid holidays a year, including 2 weeks at the end of the calendar year and one week in March for mid-semester break; 12 Fridays off in the summer; and 2 personal days, 15 sick days, and 20 vacation days per year. Responsibilities

  • Work with Dean and faculty to provide day-to-day and long-term direction and growth for program including all aspects of planning, organizing, and managing program operations, equipment, and curriculum.
  • Oversee all methods of instruction delivery within the program as well as curriculum, instructional materials, and facilities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert regarding curriculum, technology, and equipment in program area.
  • Assist in the scheduling of classes; the recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, developing, and evaluating of new instructors; and the facilitation of program advisory meetings and annual and five-year program reviews.
  • Support student recruitment, retention, and placement by actively marketing program in community and with area high schools.
  • Network on a professional level with local, state, and national employers and leaders in field.
  • Develop, manage, and assess annual budgets.
  • Teach in program as assigned.
  • Represent program and college to students, faculty, staff, guests, and community in a positive, professional manner.
  • Assist in the college planning and assessment program by developing annual work unit objectives that impact long-range priority goals.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in diesel mechanics. Extensive work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years recent experience in the field.
  • Ability to teach both theory and practice within several of the following fields: electrical and mechanical systems, electrical wiring and code, industrial maintenance, pneumatics/hydraulics, PLCs, mechatronics, automation, robotics, instrumentation and process control, and safety.
  • Possession of industry certifications preferred; if not, willingness and ability to become certified as well as maintain certification(s).
