About The Position

The Program Director for Child Welfare Services is responsible for overseeing the operations of assigned group care programs, ensuring compliance with performance and licensing standards, and providing direct care services to clients. This role involves program management, personnel supervision, team development, and maintaining documentation while fostering a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Family Therapy, Sociology, Psychology, or related area of Human Services.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a social services agency.
  • Ability to be self-driven/reliant and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational, workflow, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to show empathy/compassion to build trust-based relationships.
  • Demonstrated understanding of compliance requirements for regulatory, training, and documentation in residential care facilities.
  • Proven track record of creating a positive, outcome-oriented culture for all staff members.
  • Effective developmental, planning, and analytical abilities.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operations of assigned group care program(s).
  • Ensure programs meet or exceed performance and licensing standards.
  • Supervise staff on quality and timeliness of service provision and required documentation.
  • Monitor regulatory, licensing, certification, and accreditation standards to assure compliance.
  • Analyze data to continuously improve program operations and service delivery quality.
  • Develop, mentor, and lead a cohesive team in support of agency mission, goals, and values.
  • Interpret operational policies and procedures for assigned staff members.
  • Complete probationary and annual employee performance reviews within timelines.
  • Identify and resolve barriers to achieving performance goal attainment.
  • Effectively interact and communicate with parents to ensure coordinated service delivery.
  • Coordinate and meet with community and collateral agencies.
  • Create a positive, outcome-oriented culture for staff and supervisors within the program.
  • Collaborate with other leaders to improve staff satisfaction.
  • Oversee the scheduling of staff in assigned programs.
