About The Position

The Program Director for the BSN Program at Galen College of Nursing is responsible for providing leadership in the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement of the nursing educational program. This role ensures that the program meets regulatory and accrediting standards while addressing the needs of the community and industry. The Program Director will oversee faculty performance, student outcomes, and programmatic accreditation, fostering an environment of excellence in nursing education.

Requirements

• Unencumbered Nursing License in the state of Florida.
• Graduate Degree in Nursing (MSN); Doctoral Degree preferred.
• Teaching experience in a pre-licensure nursing program.
• Encouragement to enroll in a Doctoral program for personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Ensure students and graduates achieve learning outcomes and competencies.
• Facilitate faculty in implementing systematic evaluation plans.
• Use evaluation findings to inform decision-making for program improvement.
• Oversee programmatic accreditation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Supervise and lead the academic nursing unit to achieve its mission and goals.
• Ensure sufficient faculty resources to meet student learning outcomes.
• Identify resources required for faculty to maintain expertise.
• Orient and mentor faculty in their teaching responsibilities.
• Assess faculty performance and develop improvement plans as needed.
• Develop and implement policies for nursing students that are non-discriminatory.
• Ensure proper application of student policies and procedures by faculty.
• Identify resources for student services that meet nursing students' needs.
• Implement policies for handling program complaints and grievances.
• Participate in governance activities and facilitate faculty and student involvement.
• Mentor program leaders or support staff.
