Offering both inpatient and outpatient services for children, adolescents and adults, Peninsula is a leader in the changing healthcare environment. The hospital is located in Blount County, with outpatient centers in Knox, Blount, Loudon and Sevier Counties. Additionally, Peninsula offers care specifically designed for seniors with co-existing psychiatric and medical conditions at the Senior Behavioral Center located at Parkwest Medical Center. Position Summary: Sr. Program Counselor assists students in clarifying and achieving their recovery goals which may include returning to work, continuing their formal education, or seeking volunteer work. Sr. Program Counselors teach skill building courses which support the recovery needs of persons with severe and persistent mental illness, as well as co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders. Sr. Program Counselors maintain weekly progress notes, attend treatment team meetings, and help foster a collaborative and supportive recovery environment in a psycho educational setting. In addition, it is expected that all Program Counselors support fellow staff members in delivering services and support to the students enrolled in the REC program.
