About The Position

HII-Mission Technolgoies is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Program Cost Control Analyst to join our team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in program finance, cost analysis, and reporting while working on one of the largest and most complex programs in our portfolio. The analyst will begin by supporting the program through administrative tasks such as data entry, report preparation, and documentation management. As they gain familiarity with the systems and processes, they will transition into learning the fundamentals of program finance—developing skills in budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis. Over time, the analyst will work closely with program managers, finance teams, and operations to ensure accurate tracking, forecasting, and reporting of program costs.

Requirements

  • 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in government contracting, program finance, or cost control.
  • Prior internship or coursework in finance/accounting is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation, analysis, and maintenance of program cost data and financial reports.
  • Support the development of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for program activities.
  • Monitor labor, material, and subcontractor costs to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Collaborate with program managers and functional leads to gather financial inputs and validate data accuracy.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for internal leadership and government stakeholders.
  • Support audits, reviews, and data calls by providing accurate and timely financial information.
  • Learn and apply Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and government cost reporting standards.
  • Identify potential cost risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
