NPT Special Education Cooperative is seeking a Program Coordinator to provide services to NPT Special Education Cooperatives member districts; Nokomis, Pana and Taylorville. The essential job functions may include, but are not limited to, monitoring all special education programs, providing technical support to all building administrators and staff, and developing, implementing, and assisting with professional development. The coordinator will collaborate with special and general education staff and parents regarding student progress, behavioral and academic intervention, functional analysis, behavior plans, referral process, and IEP issues. Additionally, the role involves assisting in the identification, diagnosis, and placement of students with disabilities into appropriate educational programs in the least restrictive environment, facilitating transition services for special education services, and monitoring the correct completion of IEPs. The coordinator must demonstrate knowledge of best practices and research-based instructional and behavioral strategies, possess strong personal skills, and effectively communicate with parents, staff, and administrators, both orally and in writing. The position also requires participation in the evaluation process as appropriate, orienting staff to the policies and procedures, demonstrating leadership skills in working collaboratively as a member of the administrative team, and maintaining a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.
