The Role The Program Coordinator assists the Senior Director of Recovery Services in the coordination and implementation of community-based outreach programs serving individuals impacted by substance use disorders and mental health challenges. This role supports operational oversight, staff supervision, and community engagement efforts to ensure services are timely, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and aligned with organizational goals. The Program Coordinator works under the direction of the Senior Director and collaborates closely with outreach staff, community partners, and internal teams to improve access to care, service continuity, and member outcomes.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
Peer Supervision Professional (PSP)
Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA)
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in substance use, mental health, or community-based services.
At least 1–2 years of supervisory or program coordination experience.
Knowledge of or lived experience with OUD and/or StUD.
Strong understanding of recovery-oriented systems of care.
Experience with outreach, advocacy, engagement, recovery, and transitional supports.
Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal, public speaking, and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and electronic health records (EHR).
Experience working with individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and Saturdays.
Ability to travel within the catchment area and navigate public transportation for community-based work.

Responsibilities

Program Coordination & Support Support the Senior Director in coordinating the daily operations of community-based outreach and recovery support programs.
Assist with implementing program goals, policies, and procedures as directed by the Senior Director of Recovery Services.
Monitor service delivery, caseloads, and outcomes and provide regular updates and recommendations to the Senior Director.
Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and data in compliance with grant and regulatory requirements.
Support program planning, evaluation, and continuous improvement efforts.
Staff Support & Supervision Assist the Senior Director in supervising, training, and supporting outreach workers, peer specialists, and/or case managers.
Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and performance feedback under the direction of the Senior Director.
Support staff wellness, professional development, and adherence to trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and harm-reduction practices.
Assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and coverage coordination in collaboration with leadership.
Community Outreach & Engagement Support coordination of outreach activities across community settings, including shelters, treatment centers, hospitals, and correctional facilities.
Help build and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners and service providers.
Assist in developing outreach strategies to engage hard-to-reach or high-risk populations.
Elevate complex cases, crises, or member concerns to the Senior Director and collaborate on appropriate response strategies.
Member Support & Advocacy Support efforts to ensure members receive coordinated referrals to substance use treatment, mental health services, housing, medical care, and social supports.
Advocate for member needs across systems of care in collaboration with leadership.
Promote engagement, retention, self-advocacy, and culturally responsive service delivery.
Compliance & Quality Improvement Assist the Senior Director in ensuring program activities comply with HIPAA, ethical standards, organizational policies, and funder requirements.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and program evaluations.
Prepare draft reports and documentation for leadership, funders, and regulatory agencies as required.
