About The Position

The Program Coordinator is responsible for the direction and supervision of the RSS staff. The Program Coordinator maintains close communication with the program staff, provides any information relevant to the program’s operation and assists in developing and modifying the program. He/she monitors documentation by the Program staff to ensure that documentation is maintained at the highest level and is responsible for providing 24-hour management of the Program function of the facility. The Program Coordinator assists in smooth transitions for patients throughout the Charles River Recovery levels of care and discharging back to the community. The Program Coordinator is a member of the Charles River Recovery Leadership team and as such works in close contact with the Directors and other department leadership, and shares in the same leadership responsibilities such as providing on-call support.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s, Master’s or other advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of case management or similar experience required, with knowledge of Performance Improvement and substance use treatment licensing and accrediting standards necessary.
  • Communication skills to relate to all levels of management staff.
  • Self-motivated and confident Application of Continuous Quality Improvement/ Performance Improvement philosophy and ability to develop organizational strategy to ensure program excellence.
  • Knowledge of substance use and related disorders, by experience, education, and licensure.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensure is not required but a Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor (LADC) II or I strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all program staff members and activities.
  • Coordinates with other program administration and departments.
  • Participates in the recruitment and interview process to determine the appropriateness of prospective Program staff members.
  • Evaluates and appraises each member of the program staff team based on specific performance standards, on a timely basis. Completes a written narrative during performance or annual review, which identifies strengths and weakness, areas needing improvement, and performance goals to be achieved.
  • Adheres to the center’s philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Charles River Recovery Center.
  • Establishes and achieves realistic goals within position.
  • Maintains an effective organizational structure and delegates appropriate authority for completion of assigned responsibilities.
  • Implements plans for Performance Improvement.
  • Facilitates communication with ancillary services and oversees RSS staff.
  • Attends Program and administrative meetings to integrate inter-departmental sharing of information.
  • Works collaboratively with the Senior Management Team.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of emergency procedures and the ability to communicate these clearly and accurately to staff.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment.
  • Completes and forwards copies of Incident Reports and any other safety/risk issues immediately to the Compliance Officer.
  • Initiates appropriate counseling and disciplinary action for infraction of policy in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensures accurate, timely documentation of patient care.
  • Protects the privacy of all patient information in accordance with Charles River Recovery’s privacy policies, procedures, and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a health care provider. Failure to comply with Charles River Recovery’s policies and procedures on patient privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
  • May access protected health information (PHI) and other patent information only to the extent that is necessary to complete your job duties. The incumbent may only share such information with those who have a need-to-know specific patient information you have in your possession to complete their job responsibilities related to treatment, payment, or other Charles River Recovery’s operations.
  • Expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding Charles River Recovery’s policies and procedures on patient privacy and any observed practices in violation of the policy to their supervisor.
  • AOC on-call obligations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
