About The Position

The Program Coordinator supports the Division Chief in Thoracic Surgery the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of program initiatives. This role plays a key part in driving program growth and enhancing outreach efforts by developing effective engagement strategies and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The Program Coordinator leverages strong operational and administrative skills to manage day‑to‑day program functions, ensure smooth workflows, and support informed and timely decision‑making. This position requires a high level of independence, professionalism, and sound judgment. The Coordinator oversees project timelines, collaborates with vendors and partners, and ensures that program activities align with organizational goals. Experience in project management, stakeholder coordination, and process improvement is essential to success in this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Education/Social Science, or related field
  • 5 years Experience in appropriate field or
  • May consider additional years of experience in lieu of education.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree
  • Previous Experience with Project Management or Project Coordination
  • Experience with Visio is highly preferred
  • Previous experience with EPIC
  • Previous call scheduling experience
  • Previous Experience organizing conferences or symposiums
  • Previous experience arranging travel for guests and / or speakers
  • Previous experience supporting management and / or C-Suite

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes, coordinates, and evaluates program operation and procedures.
  • Develops or oversees development of budget for program.
  • Develops, cultivates, and maintains working relationships with internal/external departments/agencies and other organizations associated with and/or receiving benefit from program.
  • Establishes program goals and objectives and directs program evaluation and quality control activities; develops and/or approves schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals.
  • Plans and coordinates special events. Participates in conferences. Presents data and program information.
  • Responsible for design, execution, and effectiveness of system of internal controls, which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, and financial information is reliable.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Reads literature and attends functions to keep abreast of relevant scientific and technical developments related to program.
  • May provide supervision to staff members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
