About The Position

The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. The CDD’s Family and Community Partnerships Division, is seeking to hire a Program Coordinator to work within its Administrative Operations Team. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and work experience reflecting a substantial history of successful customer service-related administrative employment. Those with experience in government agency purchasing processes (particularly in the University setting) and budget development are strongly encouraged to apply. Past experience providing event, conference and/or travel planning services to professionals will be a definite plus. The ability to communicate and interact with a diverse cross-section of individuals calmly and professionally and articulate ideas in a clear and understandable manner is critical. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in conference and/or event planning and/or project management.
  • Experience with purchasing/reconciling in the public sector, university, or hospital.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting budget development, fiscal monitoring, and revenue and expenditure tracking for programs or projects.
  • Familiarity and ability to navigate databases to enter data timely and accurately. The ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to operate effectively with a team.
