About The Position

Exciting opportunity to work at Ocean Downs Casino Racetrack only 10 minutes from the beaches and boardwalk of Ocean City, MD! Work with an awesome team while ensuring a good time for our guests. Requirements

  • Must be in good standing with the United States Trotting Association.
  • Must have knowledge of all the rules and regulations set forth by the United States Trotting Association.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of working in the program department of an established Race Track.
  • Must be able to stand / walk and/or sit for extended periods of time without difficulty.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which includes days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to obtain and keep a License issued by the Maryland Racing Commission required of all Racing Services employees.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and ensures a fun-filled, entertaining and exciting environment where the flawless delivery and execution of service excellence is paramount.
  • Be responsible for the furnishing to the public complete and accurate past performances as so outlined by USTA Rule 7, Section 2.
  • Collect accurate chart line data for past performances and fractional times with the leading horse for publication in the program for wagering use.
  • Indicate proper claiming prices for race programs
  • Insure that all information that is submitted to the state judges is accurate and reliable
  • Insure the proper identifying of horse listed in the program are true and that all medications and vaccinations are attributable to all horses entered and racing
  • Perform all work in conjunction with the presiding and associate judges
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Communicate (both written and verbal) with and promote positive team member and guest relations.
  • Maintain professionalism at all times when working with other team members and/or guests.
  • Ability to adapt to a wide array of situations in short period of time.
  • Provide our guests fast, fun, friendly, joyful, focused service.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
