About The Position

The mission of the Kentucky Energy & Environment Cabinet (EEC) is to improve the quality of life for all Kentuckians by protecting our land, air, and water resources by utilizing our natural resources in an environmentally conscientious manner. This is achieved by helping families connect with nature, preserving the Commonwealth’s natural heritage, and supporting innovative, resilient, and sustainable energy solutions that bring economic benefit to the commonwealth. This Program Coordinator position is within the Division of Water, Water Infrastructure Branch, and involves municipal planning, engineering, and water infrastructure funding. The role supports critical functions in the Drinking Water and Clean Water infrastructure construction approval programs, interacting daily with water industry professionals, including utilities, consultants, engineers, and citizens. The position offers an opportunity to implement sustainable water infrastructure planning and construction, ensuring efficient delivery of safe water services. The Program Coordinator will act as a liaison, coordinating personnel to deliver projects successfully, and is responsible for clear communication and maintaining documentation within internal databases. The outcomes of this role protect human health and the environment, address current citizen needs, and foster resilient communities for the future.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Three years of professional experience in management or administration.
  • A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Administrative or business experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate administrative functions of the Drinking Water and Clean Water Infrastructure Construction programs.
  • Analyze program support needs and recommend procedural or program changes to program staff, engineers, utilities, or other interested parties.
  • Provide support and collaborate with applicants and manage transfer of documents through online eForms portal.
  • Interpret drinking water and clean water construction program and State Revolving Fund program laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
