About The Position

The Women’s Center Program coordinator provides logistic and programmatic support for the Women’s Center at Wake Forest University. The Program Coordinator’s primary responsibility is managing planning and logistics for all programming; developing and advising students, and managing outreach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of one year of full-time (or equivalent, such as two years of part-time graduate work) experience required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Experience developing and implementing programs for undergraduate students that support their academic and personal resilience and success.
  • General knowledge of office management techniques, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, the internet, and other relevant software.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Ability to always present and display a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret policy and procedural questions.
  • Ability to research and resolve office management and administrative problems and questions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in and demonstrated sensitivity to working with the academic and student-life units in higher education, and with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated competence in working to support all students in a higher education environment.
  • Comfort with using AI or willing to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Performs tasks related to the planning, organizing, and supervising the delivery of Women’s Center programs that support the campus community and provides opportunities for student leadership and civic engagement.
  • Coordinates Center daily operations and provides administrative assistance, as needed.
  • Supervises Women’s Center student employees.
  • Supports the development of student coalitions and organizations seeking partnership, guidance, or advising.
  • Advises peer mentoring program, supporting student leaders to recruit and train participants, and working with the Mentoring Resource Center to develop and facilitate curriculum.
  • Coordinates events including scheduling speakers, working with vendors, overseeing registration processes.
  • Manages volunteer programs, ensuring that all volunteers are appropriately trained and placed, and conducting annual assessment to measure the programs’ effectiveness.
  • Responds to student-identified needs with creative problem solving.
  • Facilitates intentional conversations that support student identity development, build resilience, and work through interpersonal conflict.
