About The Position

This position oversees the daily operations of the Pathways to Careers in Transportation grant, including planning, managing, and evaluating both the program and its participants. Responsibilities include conducting formative and summative assessments, implementing all activities outlined in the grant proposal, and coordinating the industry-specific Advisory Board. The budget period is from July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028.

Requirements

  • One to two years of college credit (30 credit hours are equivalent to one year) or certification in a related field
  • Three years of experience in the field of transportation.
  • Knowledge of the field of transportation
  • Knowledge of higher education institutions' policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English
  • Knowledge of advising skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to perform detailed work independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of transportation regulations.
  • Ability to make small group presentations.
  • Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls.
  • Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
  • No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.
  • As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
  • A background investigation will be conducted prior to the offer of employment. A signed authorization for the release of personal information will be required if selected for an interview.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Ability to communicate in a written and spoken foreign language is not a requirement; however, it is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the Pathways to Careers in Transportation grant program.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor program activities to ensure alignment with grant objectives.
  • Conduct formative and summative assessments to evaluate participant progress and program outcomes.
  • Recruit, advise, and support program participants to ensure engagement and success.
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings with the industry-specific Advisory Board.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with transportation industry employers and community stakeholders.
  • Track, analyze, and report program data to meet grant compliance and institutional reporting requirements.
  • Manage program budget and resources in accordance with grant guidelines.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners to strengthen career pathways and employment opportunities.
  • Prepare and present progress reports, updates, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Consults with contacts at various colleges, universities, departments, businesses, and corporations regarding course and program requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
