FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Safety Sensitive: YES Level II Screening: YES When Assigned to STARS and Recreation Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, position is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operational activities of facilities, programs, events, and personnel. Plan, develop and implement program activities and special events. The Teen Program Coordinator will develop, monitor and supervise all teen programs related to teen leadership, education, personal development, life skills and job readiness, ensuring that all programs have outcomes related to the City of Fort Myers Rising STARS Program and will additionally assist with developing programs that are focused on students ages 11-18 that are At-Risk or other factors that may be contributing factors to low grades, poor attendance and/or behavioral issues resulting in low achievement. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the City's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Responsibilities and Reporting During an Emergency Situation: Essential Employees may be required to work during a declared emergency. Depending on the nature of the emergency, this may require working around the clock for several days on short notice. Non-Essential Employees will not be required to work during a declared emergency. The employee's Department Head will determine when the employee will be required to work.
