About The Position

The Program Coordinator at the Center for LGBT Health Research within the University of Pittsburgh's School of Public Health is responsible for providing essential support across various research activities. This role combines program management, resource development, and administrative oversight to enhance the Center's impact. The Program Coordinator will ensure that research activities align with institutional goals and policies, playing a crucial role in advancing the Center's mission by ensuring smooth operations and meaningful outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as public health, social sciences, or business administration.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in program management, research support, or administrative coordination.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks autonomously.
  • Proven ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency in budget management and resource coordination.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in program management, research coordination, or administrative support within an academic or nonprofit setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in resource development, donor relations, or grant management.
  • Experience supporting and guiding staff in completing daily tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong familiarity with institutional policies, compliance requirements, or quality control standards within research environments.
  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial oversight, with experience managing multiple budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day management and execution of multiple complex research projects.
  • Construct data collection instruments and craft promotional materials.
  • Troubleshoot data and manage the database.
  • Assist with screening, recruitment, and enrollment of study participants.
  • Perform budgetary and purchasing functions.
  • Coordinate and schedule large meetings, events, and logistics for speakers and collaborators.
  • Organize both in-person and virtual community meetings and engagement events.
  • Manage Center programs and special projects, including pilot studies and training programs.
  • Assist Center faculty with research administration, coordinating with grants administrators to fulfill project needs.
  • Collaborate with Center leadership to develop effective business processes and protocols for administrative efficiency.
  • Partner with Pitt and SPH communications teams to develop and maintain the Center's online presence.
