The position involves contributing to the analysis of internal and external opportunities related to operating goals. The individual will independently manage some or all of the implementation of assigned projects and outreach initiatives, serving as an expert resource and mentoring other internal/external research project personnel. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving problems, contributing significantly to discussions on prospective project design, feasibility, project management, and outcomes measurement. The role also requires participation in designing, organizing, and monitoring projects, including budgets and financial management. The individual will plan for, participate in, and occasionally lead the education of internal and external staff required to carry out assigned projects or research initiatives. Additionally, the position involves organizing and participating in internal and external project workgroup, committee, and advisory board meetings, preparing written correspondence, developing brochures, exhibits, and website content, writing articles for newsletters, newspapers, and magazines, coordinating student rotations and community research experiences, and presenting at national meetings. Other activities and duties may be assigned as needed. The position may require frequent travel to support community-based participatory research efforts. As a hybrid role, it supports a combination of offsite (remote) and on-site work according to business needs, with on-site expectations determined by the supervisor and discussed during the interview.
