About The Position

The NYC Department of Design and Construction's Division of Infrastructure is currently searching for a Program Coordinator to join the Program Management (PM) Unit. Successful candidate will report to the Associate Commissioner and will monitor the progress of key initiatives like the Southeast Queens Initiative and the Pedestrian Ramps Program. This role involves collaboration with two Assistant Commissioners and twelve individual teams handling special assignments as needed. Essential duties also encompass tracking the agency's annual commitment plan and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), preparing presentations and materials for staff and interagency meetings, generating reports, and addressing inquiries from the Commissioner's Office, Legal Department, Public Affairs, and City Hall. Additionally, the Program Coordinator will compose replies to external communications for the Associate Commissioner's approval, manage special tasks for executive staff as directed by the Associate Commissioner and Assistant Commissioners, and develop a project tracking and reporting system. The role requires effective collaboration with executive staff and supporting the Division Administrative Officer (DAO) in gathering and disseminating information pertinent to Program Management's staff. The Program Coordinator will also be responsible for crafting and distributing emails and announcements on behalf of the DAO when necessary.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration, or public administration, and five years of full-time satisfactory experience in the planning, administering or expediting of engineering design, and/or construction, or coordinating a very large engineering project, two years of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory capacity.
  • A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and nine years of experience as described above, two years of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory capacity.
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to the above, with an accredited Master's degree in one of the disciplines described, a law degree, or a valid New York State license as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect or Landscape Architect may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

  • Valid driver's license (required).
