The position involves contributing to the analysis of internal and external opportunities related to operating goals. The individual will independently manage some or all of the implementation of assigned projects and outreach initiatives. They will serve as an expert resource and mentor to other internal and external research project personnel. The role includes troubleshooting and resolving problems, significantly contributing to discussions on prospective project design, feasibility, project management, and outcomes measurement. Additionally, the position requires participation in designing, organizing, and monitoring projects, including budgets and financial management. The individual will plan for, participate in, and occasionally lead the education of internal and external staff required to carry out assigned projects or research initiatives. Responsibilities also include organizing and participating in internal and external project workgroup, committee, and advisory board meetings, teleconferences, and regional meetings; preparing written correspondence; developing brochures, exhibits, and website content; writing articles for newsletters, newspapers, and magazines; coordinating student rotations and community research experiences; presenting at national meetings; and performing other activities and duties as assigned. The position may require frequent travel to support community-based participatory research efforts.
