About The Position

The Program Coordinator II works collaboratively with leadership to plan, develop and implement programs. This position provides administrative and financial assistance to the Senior Associate Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies on special projects benefiting TAMUG researchers, research capabilities, and research activities. The role includes monitoring compliance with unit, department, University and government standards, policies, and procedures related to research and graduate studies, as well as ensuring timely updates to the Research and Graduate Studies website. The coordinator will also facilitate training activities, assess ongoing needs, and maintain knowledge of university policies and federal regulations related to research activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years of progressively responsible administration and coordination experience.
  • Required software competency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work well under deadlines and multitask.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of experience in a research environment in the public or private sector.
  • Knowledge of federal cost standards and sponsor guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative and financial assistance to the Senior Associate Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies.
  • Participates in planning and coordinating operational procedural matters to meet department goals.
  • Monitors compliance with unit, department, University and government standards.
  • Provides day-to-day coordination with the program coordinator to facilitate training activities.
  • Assists researchers in understanding federal regulations and sponsor guidelines.
  • Provides support to faculty submitting large proposals and manages proposal development processes.
  • Develops visually engaging written reports to document the success and activities of the TAMUG research enterprise.
  • Serves as a liaison between TAMUG and other administrative units.
