We care about people, and that includes both our residents and employees! A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PROGRAM COORDINATOR II As a Program Coordinator II, you spend your day being part of community events. Your work typically involves serving on the FEMA/NIMS and Emergency Response Shelter programs, assisting in the interviewing, hiring and training of employees and volunteers. Your job is essential to the city, and you provide administrative support; verify daily cash reports for accuracy in collected monies and submit incident reports. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. This can include assisting in preparation for public events and presentations; coordinate and attend meetings with staff and community. When you are not out in the city, you generally p rovide clerical support; maintain communications with outside agencies; and assist in registering clients for programs. You also assist in organizing a variety of athletic programs, tournaments, camps and special events; secure locations and solicit sponsors for events; provide information to the public regarding programs and special events. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with skills in customer service, public relations, and finding genuine enjoyment in what you do!

Requirements

  • Required Education: High school diploma, GED or equivalency
  • Required Work Experience: One (1) year experience in overseeing operations of programs and activities.
  • Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Education Preference: Bachelor Degree in related field.
  • Experience Preference: Two (2) years working in such related fields
  • Bilingual English/ Spanish Preferred.
