About The Position

Utah State University’s Institute for Disability Research, Policy & Practice (IDRPP) is seeking a highly organized and proactive Program Coordinator I to manage and coordinate the continued growth of the EmployAbility Clinic. This position plays a key role in the planning, coordination, and implementation of the Paid Student Internship Program , with primary responsibility for managing the expansion of this program into Brigham City and surrounding communities . The Program Coordinator I will oversee day-to-day administrative, operational, and coordination functions of a focused service-oriented program, ensuring effective collaboration among students, faculty, staff, Vocational Rehabilitation, employers, and community partners. This role requires strong project management, communication, and organizational skills to support sustainable program growth. The Program Coordinator I reports to EmployAbility Clinic leadership and may train, coordinate, and direct student employees, interns, and/or volunteers in support of program operations and expansion efforts. This is an exempt, benefited position that can be hired between 75% - 100% time depending on program needs and the candidate selected. This position requires travel to Brigham City, UT and surrounding areas during the week. Requirements

  • Associate degree plus two (2) years of related experience; or Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate complex programs or projects.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to make independent administrative and procedural decisions.
  • Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and timelines.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and standard software applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and report program data.
  • Ability to train, coordinate, and lead staff and students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, employers, and community partners.
  • Ability to exercise discretion, problem-solving, and independent judgment in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with different clients and stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess or be able to obtain within 60 days of employment, a current Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) Certification.
  • Experience working with youth and/or adults with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of disability services, education, employment programs, or community-based initiatives preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Program Management & Expansion Coordinate and manage the expansion of the Paid Student Internship Program into Brigham City and surrounding areas.
  • Develop implementation plans, timelines, and workflows to support program growth and sustainability.
  • Coordinate program logistics, schedules, and staffing across multiple sites.
  • Serve as the primary point of coordination between EmployAbility Clinic leadership, Vocational Rehabilitation, school partners, employers, and community agencies.
  • Monitor program activities to ensure alignment with program goals, policies, and funding requirements.
  • Program Coordination & Administration Design, coordinate, and implement daily program operations and activities.
  • Facilitate and coordinate meetings, trainings, and special projects related to internship and employment services.
  • Coordinate activities of support staff, student employees, interns, consultants, and volunteers.
  • Collect, track, analyze, and maintain program data; prepare reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Monitor program expenditures and assist with budget tracking and fiscal coordination.
  • Draft, edit, and manage program correspondence, reports, handbooks, and other materials.
  • Assist with grant writing, reporting, and funding documentation as appropriate.
  • Maintain and update program materials and website content as needed.
  • Internship & Employment Coordination Coordinate community partnerships and employer relationships to support internship placements.
  • Oversee internship logistics, including student placement, scheduling, transportation coordination, and site communication.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of program standards and expectations across internship sites.
  • Support data collection and outcome reporting related to internships and employment services.
  • Supervision & Training Train, coordinate, and provide functional direction to student employees, interns, and/or volunteers.
  • Support onboarding, scheduling, and ongoing communication for staff and students involved in the internship program.
  • Community & Stakeholder Engagement Coordinate employer and community outreach related to paid internships and employment opportunities.
  • Support public education efforts highlighting the value of inclusive employment.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders to support program success.
  • Additional Duties Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned to support program objectives.
