About The Position

Assist the program director with coordination of the Health Professions degree programs, including staffing, facility and resource management, accreditation, curriculum development/maintenance, course instruction, and regulatory compliance.

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience in clinical work and patient care is required.
  • Current, active license in the State of Texas in a healthcare field or current, active certification in a healthcare field.
  • This position is Security Sensitive, therefore, candidates will be subject to a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day management and evaluation of the program, full-time and associate faculty and staff, facilities, and resources to accomplish safe and effective program delivery and coordination of division activities and projects.
  • Assist in facilitating and resolving students’ complaints/concerns in a constructive, fair, and balanced manner in accordance with the college’s values while working with faculty, associate faculty, academic advisors, Dean of Students Office, and other departments as needed.
  • Assist with the management of student admission, advisement, progression, graduation, certification, and licensing processes for the program.
  • Assist with the management of regulatory compliance associated with the program's field of practice and education, including implementation of college policy and division and program procedures, compliance with the Texas Higher Education Coordination Board (THECB) standards, and compliance with appropriate regulatory and educational accreditation standards including production of accreditation self-study documents and reports.
  • Oversee workforce program compliance with college, accreditation, and THECB requirements, if applicable.
  • Assist in class/course schedule development and faculty load assignment following and in compliance with academic policies, procedures, and guidelines of Collin College, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
  • Foster effective communication and teamwork among staff, faculty, and administration within the division.
  • Assist in developing/implementing initiatives to improve instruction and provide discipline-specific academic advising to increase student retention and completion.
  • Serve as a point of contact for students, faculty, and staff for assigned disciplines on the campus.
  • Assist in formulating and recommending the annual budget for all Health Professions degree programs in order to have proper supplies and maintenance of the labs within the division.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
