About The Position

The Program Coordinator will provide critical assistance to the Rockefeller Center public programs team! This position serves as a resource for Center-wide projects that promote the Center's engagement with the broader Dartmouth community and external stakeholders. In particular, it provides programming support to the Political Economy Project collaboration initiated in 2025.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated writing/research skills with experience creating email and social media communication.
  • Experience designing promotional materials and printed assets for public programs and events.
  • High proficiency in social media platforms.
  • Availability to staff late afternoon and evening programs, and work flexible hours.
  • Proficiency with website management.
  • Experience with event development, planning, and implementation.
  • Ability to manage multiple project timelines.
  • Ability to work effectively with faculty, administrators, staff, and students.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and respond to pressure and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with current office technology (e.g. MS Office suite, Dropbox, Slack).
  • Budget management skills.
  • Valid driver's license required for transporting program participants.
  • Ability to physically assist with program setup and cleanup.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in a highly autonomous setting.
  • Prior experience with event planning and management.
  • Experience in Adobe Suite including Adobe Express and other design platforms (Canva or similar).
  • Experience and comfort with social media marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Works with the Assistant Director of Public Programs to expand the public program communication strategy to maximize visibility and invite a diverse audience to programs.
  • Acts as communications liaison, working with various teams and departments for questions regarding communications and publicity.
  • Creates printed and digital assets for events, including posters, social media posts, invitations, and programs.
  • Manages the Political Economy Project/Rockefeller Center Public Programs presence on websites, including updates and archiving.
  • Works with the Assistant Director of Public Programs to ensure all logistics and event setups are in place.
  • Staffs events, providing assistance to visiting speakers/guests and attendees.
  • Works with vendors for audio/visual support, catering, accommodations, and travel for events.
  • Coordinates and manages student assistant staffing at events.
  • Maintains event communications budget and submits expenses related to Public Programs communication.
  • Participates in weekly planning meetings with the Rockefeller Center Public Programs team.
  • Hires and supervises student program assistants for event administration and research.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness.
