About The Position

Under the general direction of the program manager, the Program Coordinator-Developmental Services is responsible for care coordination and case management services for the program's patients and families. The Program Coordinator may be the first point of contact for families accessing services at RCHSD, and as such will provide supportive care in assisting them with accessing appropriate services within the hospital and in the community. Interfaces with other team members, including patients, families, physicians and clinical and school personnel, to facilitate integrated communication and services for patients and their families. Ensures appointments are authorized and scheduled, patients are managed through applicable candidacy processes when applicable equipment is ordered and repairs completed, care is coordinated with school services, and patient information is documented and maintained. Assists hospital personnel in various departments with developing systems of care that assist children in target population in receiving appropriate medical care in a comfortable manner. Manages the program's website by keeping it up-to-date.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline
  • 2 years of experience
  • Demonstrated customer service skills to include ability to develop immediate rapport with a variety of customers of all different socio-economic, cultural and economic groups both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and manage caseload, complete records in timely manner, provide a variety of community services, and work effectively and harmoniously with personnel and families
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Computer skills sufficient to perform data entry, production of educational materials and word processing
  • Those staff assisting with the provision of direct Audiology and/or Speech Pathology services must be registered with the State of California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board within three months of hire date

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree
  • 3 years of experience
  • Prior experience with inventory management - to include placing orders, monitoring stock, processing invoices for accounts payable
  • Experience working with children with special needs and their families
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
