About The Position

The Coordinator of Community Education is responsible for planning and coordinating lifelong learning activities for both youth and adults within the Elk River Area School District. This role aims to meet community educational needs by offering a diverse range of programs year-round. The coordinator will develop new opportunities, create curriculum, supervise staff, and ensure effective marketing of programs to the community.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum 2 years of experience in planning, coordinating, and supervising activities.
• Training or experience addressing various learning styles of youth and adult learners.
• Proficient in technology for managing information and marketing activities.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to work in a team.
• Creativity and ability to apply it in various venues.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate overall planning and scheduling of classes and activities for a balanced program.
• Develop new opportunities for targeted age groups to address unmet needs and resident requests.
• Collaboratively create curriculum and quality lesson plans that meet learning objectives.
• Recruit, interview, train, and supervise instructors and staff for high-quality programs.
• Provide program instruction as needed.
• Coordinate with other Community Education Coordinators to ensure a balanced program for all audiences.
• Plan and monitor budgets for classes and activities to maximize resources and meet financial targets.
• Work with the Program Manager to coordinate marketing materials and promote activities effectively.
