Our mission is to connect young readers and youth leaders to inspire a love of literacy and leadership. As the Program Coordinator, Civic Leadership, you play a key role in delivering RBBB's Pathways to Civic Leadership program and supporting high-school students as they grow into informed, confident, civically engaged leaders. Your work day may begin preparing materials, communicating with prospective participants, and coordinating logistics with the Pathways Program Director. You'll review data, update attendance records, and ensure program spaces and supplies are ready for sessions. Later i n the afternoon, you'll facilitate dynamic program sessions with groups of up to 20 teens-building relationships, guiding discussions, and creating a supportive, inclusive environment that encourages personal and civic growth. Throughout the week, you'll help support recruitment efforts, connect with community partners, coordinate guest speakers, and collaborate closely with the Pathways team. You will also contribute insights to strengthen program quality and alignment. Through your facilitation, relationship-building, and professionalism, you help empower young people across Phoenix to develop their civic voice and leadership potential.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of small group facilitation with high-school aged students
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Must have a valid Arizona Driver's license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
  • Must have a valid IVP fingerprint clearance card (or ability to obtain prior to start) and successful completion of a Department of Child Safety (AZDCS) Central Registry check.
  • Confident and effective in public-facing communication, able to present information clearly and connect authentically with youth audiences
  • Flexibility and willingness to support team needs and adapt to evolving program requirements
  • Ability to navigate challenging conversations with participants while maintaining professionalism and alignment with RBBB's values and priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in education, youth-serving or nonprofit organization, a plus
  • Familiarity with civic leadership programs or roles (e.g., community organizing, voter education, public policy, or related efforts), a plus
