The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Assistant Director, 4-H Youth Development and Director, Arizona 4-H Youth Foundation to conduct programs which address priority needs at the state and national levels. The Program Coordinator will facilitate the logistics of 4-H events that provide opportunities that support youth from all backgrounds to develop into competent, confident, and caring individuals who contribute to their community and demonstrate the character to be a responsible citizen. This role will focus on event logistics, registration, contracts, finances, and promotion of a wide array of all state level events. The Program Coordinator will implement the state level educational events and programs to include Arizona 4-H Summit, Clover Ball, J.O.L.T., Engaged Citizens Event, Emerging Leaders Event, and Arizona 4-H Stock Show & Expo. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for marketing, recruiting, and facilitating an in-bound international exchange program, facilitate the Arizona 4-H State Ambassador program, and will assist the 4-H Director in providing guidance for AmeriCorps and undergraduate work-study students as they are available.

  • Assist in the development of an annual Plan of Work in cooperation with the Assistant Director- 4-H Youth Development, Director, Arizona 4-H Youth Foundation, county-based 4-H professionals, community groups, local leaders, Extension advisory groups, and other Extension professionals.
  • Implement and support high-quality state level educational and engagement events in support of Arizona 4-H and Arizona 4-H Youth Foundation.
  • Manage the In-Bound and Outbound International Exchange Youth program, liaise with States' 4-H staff, recruit, screen, and select host-families and support in-bound youth and host families.
  • Establish a plan of work and ensure programmatic continuity and quality of the Arizona 4-H State Ambassador program in conjunction with program Advisor(s).
  • Serve as Liaison and State Office Contact for all State Level Events and Contests.
  • Build and conduct creative programming and utilize new technology to address priority needs of the target audiences.
  • Promote interaction and cooperation among various 4-H, University, and stakeholder groups.
  • Disseminate educational materials through workshops, websites, newsletters and other mass media methods.
  • Promote communication and teamwork between county and state 4-H youth professionals and Cooperative Extension and other University of Arizona faculty.
  • Ensure events are well attended, financially sustainable, and remain responsive to youth and programmatic needs.
  • Ensure program evaluation is implemented and supports efforts to implement applied youth and volunteer development research.
  • Maintain professional competence through study, participation in professional activities and the application of knowledge and skills on the job.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience is required.
  • Teaching and volunteer management experience, formal or informal.
  • Experience working in remote teams to implement events and engagement strategies.
  • Experience with multiple forms of social media and web strategies to encourage event attendance and to create engaging experiences during the event.
  • Experience coordinating and implementing international exchange programs.
  • The ability to read, write, and speak Spanish or Native American languages spoken by Arizona tribal communities.
