About The Position

Hearst Television in Charlotte, North Carolina is looking for a Program and Content Specialist to join our Ad Tech Platforms team. Responsibilities include creation of format templates that maximize commercial inventory and ensure quality of on-air look, program scheduling for all stations, coordination of distributor, local station and network information, maintenance of program inventory and maintenance of Wide Orbit coding as it relates to program standardization. Requirements

  • Working knowledge of WideOrbit Traffic System preferred
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) preferred
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Accurate, Detail-oriented and self-starter
  • Data entry and customer service experience
  • Knowledge of program distributor terminology preferred
  • Onsite attendance is required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain standardized Program Names for all programs
  • Maintain standardized Format Codes used by WideOrbit in conjunction with Engineering Automation needs
  • Maintain standardized Inventory Codes for all programs and changes to each station’s Inventory Trees
  • Creation of shared format templates for all programming using standardized guidelines for break structure and snipe/bug/ID placement to ensure quality of on-air look and commercial inventory maximization
  • Schedule all program changes (network, local, and syndicated) for all stations; Review network and local schedules and formats for revisions needed to daily log
  • Station contact for all program related inquires; Liaison to CDC personnel regarding program/episode information
  • Interpret multiple pieces of information from many different sources – i.e.; Station grids, networks, e-mails, etc.
  • Build relationships with station programming personnel which will help streamline processes and help with the timeliness of programming turn-around
  • Review daily formats for HTV banned spots and communicate how necessary
  • Work as a team when it comes to projects or having to check others formatting like Olympics formats
  • Coordinate material asset deliveries
  • Maintain assets including purges and data entry
  • Troubleshoot data entry and common technical issues
  • Screen material assets for quality control and decency standards
  • Work daily with the Central Distribution Center, HTV staff, and Hearst stations regarding the coordination of assets
