The Program Consultant will participate in the implementation, dissemination, and handling of various project management and policy functions and information in the Office of Environmental Accountability and Transparency (OEAT). The incumbent has the responsibility of handling various assignments, and representing the Office, as necessary, in both internal and external meetings. The incumbent deals with a variety of tasks and must use independent judgment and problem-solving skills to successfully accomplish the job. Critical thinking and highly effective communication skills are a must for this position. Duties of the position include: Managing content on the Protecting Florida Together website and proposing and implementing enhancements. Coordinating with program areas, communications, marketing, and IT for implementation. Working with internal and external stakeholders to develop educational content and public outreach materials related to water quality and harmful algal blooms. Coordinating interactions between internal staff at the Department and external agency staff or other stakeholders as needed. Providing project management and support for the development and implementation of tools that (1) support water quality priorities and (2) communicate state actions addressing water quality priorities. Developing and managing technically diverse grant agreements focused on water quality and ensuring compliance with quality assurance requirements as defined in Chapter 62-160, Florida Administrative Code. Managing contracts and purchase orders including but not limited to those related to: public relations, advertising, marketing, multimedia, and data and analytics services. Working as directed on special projects and other duties as assigned to support OEAT initiatives. Providing oversight on sensitive and critical projects formulating any policies that may be required. Developing and implementing ideas and policies that streamline and/or improve processes. Analyzing scientific data and research to support the resolution of state waterway initiatives and other directives of the Director and Chief Science Officer. Analyzing, managing, and reviewing policies pertaining to the state’s water and natural resources. Supporting Blue-Green Algae Task Force meetings and other OEAT initiatives as needed. Performing other duties and special assignments as requested.
