About The Position

The purpose of the Program Consultant is to provide overall leadership and supervision for a treatment program consisting of psychiatric patients in need of ongoing treatment for acute, severe & persistent mental illness. This involves all aspects of treatment from admission assessments through discharge planning and follow-up. This incumbent will be responsible for overseeing systems that support individualized care and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. You will provide direct oversight of MHDDT's on the patient units, ensuring consistency in care delivery and addressing any discrepancies in performance with the Program Coordinator. Osawatomie State Hospital is licensed by the State of Kansas to provide care and treatment for adults diagnosed with psychiatric disorders regardless of ability to pay. There are currently two hospitals on the Osawatomie campus in Miami county: Osawatomie State Hospital (OSH) and Adair Acute Care (AAC). Adair Acute Care is a 60-bed facility, certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Requirements

• One year of experience in planning, implementing, and monitoring activities relevant to the agency's programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain galley, snack ordering, and patient kitchen
• Assist with covering the floor when needed
• Complete staff training for new hires and provide feedback
• Oversee the work of MHDDT's
• Perform basic tasks to enable assessment of patient's condition
• Participate in patient activities
• Responsible for implementing the admission process
• Demonstrate knowledge of handling crisis/emergency situations
• Document information in the Medical Record (Patient Care System)
