About The Position

Connecticut Foodshare is the state's only Feeding America food bank. We support individuals and families - from one end of the state to the other - by addressing root causes, creating long-term solutions, and distributing nutritious food through local partner programs in an effort to alleviate hunger. Connecticut is home to great wealth but also some of the poorest cities in the nation. This position works with the Mobile Pantry and CSFP senior box programs to make improvements that will positively impact thousands of people who use these programs every month. This position requires a caring person, able to connect in a genuine way with people from every demographic. Someone who radiates respect and compassion, is direct, honest and comfortable speaking to groups of people. Good Microsoft Office skills and the ability to troubleshoot and improve processes is preferred. Statewide travel required with mileage reimbursed. Transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Visit Mobile Pantry and CSFP sites to understand program objectives, practices and challenges.
• Develop program improvements to increase value to neighbors attending mobile pantry and those receiving the Commodity Supplemental Food Program.
• Create instructional videos demonstrating best practices for serving guests at mobiles.
• Lead volunteer recruitment at mobile sites.
• Recruit 3rd party services at mobiles and CSFP sites (Nutrition Ed & other).
• Refine 3rd party tracking process.
• Implement CSFP process improvements as indicated by the Management Evaluation by DSS.
