About The Position

The Electrification Coalition (EC) is at the forefront of a national movement to drive the widespread adoption of electric vehicles, unlocking transformative economic, public health, and national security benefits for the United States. We are seeking a proactive, highly skilled, and innovative Program Associate to play a pivotal role in advancing our mission. This position will support the EC’s programs team, which works with cities, states, utilities, and other stakeholders to build capacity and accelerate the deployment of electric vehicles and charging infrastructure at scale. The team supports partners across the full lifecycle of electrification efforts, from fleet and infrastructure assessments and transition planning to procurement, financing, and deployment. This work involves assisting partners in navigating technical, financial, and operational considerations; developing practical tools and resources that can be applied at scale; and supporting implementation strategies that enable successful and durable electrification outcomes. Our ideal candidate brings skills and experience in the areas of electric vehicle policy and federal funding deployment, stakeholder education and engagement, and writing and analysis. This position requires significant face-to-face time with stakeholders and those utilizing EC educational collateral, often with the need to be comfortable in leading external-facing presentations across a variety of settings and audiences. Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience (preference for candidates with a background in nonprofit, energy, electric vehicle, transportation, government, policy, or political field).
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to anticipating needs and resolving issues.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially in organizing materials, scheduling meetings, and tracking project deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to manage work for multiple projects concurrently, adapt to shifting priorities, meet project objectives, and maintain high-quality standards.
  • High level of proficiency and skilled application of Microsoft Office programs and other online software. Familiarity with project management software such as Monday.com is a plus.
  • Comfortable adapting to a rapidly changing, dynamic environment, with the ability to quickly shift priorities and respond to the team's evolving needs.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and thrive in a remote environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GIS or similar mapping and data analysis platforms (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, or comparable tools)
  • Knowledge of or interest in electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, transportation, energy policy, and energy security.
  • Experience working with cities, local governments, or related public-sector partners

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the delivery and implementation of program tasks, including analysis, research, and education delivery.
  • Collaborate across EC teams, including Policy, Freight, and Campaigns, on joint tasks, deliverables, and projects.
  • Track and evaluate federal, state, and local funding opportunities and initiatives related to transportation electrification.
  • Monitor and share relevant industry updates, highlighting successes and best practices.
  • Create fact sheets, briefing memos, slide presentations, white papers, and other materials to support programs and initiatives.
  • Contribute to EC’s newsletter, funder updates, and publications by summarizing key policy and program developments in transportation electrification.
  • Review and synthesize technical documents to produce valuable, relevant resources.
  • Support EC programs team in developing tools, resources, and cutting-edge insights for electrifying transportation.
  • Support execution and management of EC projects and programs by establishing and monitoring outcomes, deliverables, staffing plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Provide regular updates to project partners and relevant stakeholders (e.g., funding organizations, interested parties, government agencies, etc.).
  • Present and represent EC at conferences, webinars, and other event engagements. This includes curating presentations, managing audience engagement, and identifying unique narratives for successful implementation.
  • Cultivate and maintain trusting relationships with industry partners from a variety of sectors, including government, utility, academia, business, and nonprofit/foundation.
  • Facilitate information sharing and connections among various stakeholders to advance the knowledge transfer of best practices, program design, and opportunities.
  • As needed, support proposal development processes including content development, editing, and facilitation of collaborative planning sessions with external partners and internal team members.
  • Contribute to funder and/or client reporting and communications.
