About The Position

As a Program Associate, you’ll be a key member of an interdisciplinary team providing hands-on support across N Street Village programs, including day services, low-barrier shelter, temporary shelter, and permanent supportive housing. This role is ideal for someone compassionate, steady under pressure, and motivated by mission-driven work.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree + 1 year of direct social services experience OR
High school diploma/equivalent + 2 years of direct social services experience OR
Must be able to pass drug screening within 48hr of extended offer and all Background screenings before start date

Nice To Haves

Experience working with vulnerable populations
Knowledge of addiction, mental illness, homelessness, and trauma-informed care
Familiarity with DC’s Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)
Strong alignment with inclusive, equity-driven values
Experience with or willingness to learn data visualization tools

Responsibilities

Build positive, respectful relationships with clients through routine engagement
Assist with program setup and close-down (meals, toiletries, laundry, showers, activities)
Serve meals and support daily program operations
Conduct program intakes and initial health & wellness screenings
Respond to immediate client needs and help de-escalate crises
Enforce program rules with consistency and care
Complete required documentation (daily activity logs, monthly reports, incident reports)
Support care coordination tasks, including referrals and residency forms
Collaborate with volunteers and partner agencies
Participate in team meetings, supervision, and program quality improvement efforts
Adhere to all agency policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
