The mission of the Bureau of Tuberculosis Control (BTBC) is to prevent the spread of tuberculosis (TB) and eliminate it as a public health problem in New York City. This position will focus on providing TB screening services to recent sponsored immigrants and refugees arriving in New York City. This work involves cultural sensitivity, organizational skills, working with clinic staff, and reporting evaluation outcomes. This includes direct outreach, documenting outcomes from appointments in our clinics, and review of local data on evaluations for TB of these individuals. Taken together, the selected candidate will use these experiences to provide insights on how to more efficiently use available resources to connect these individuals to screening, follow-up and care in NYC.
