About The Position

The Program Associate, Energy at LACI plays a crucial role in advancing clean energy initiatives and supporting the commercialization of clean technologies. This position involves conducting market analysis, coordinating events, and assisting in the development of partnerships aimed at promoting sustainable energy solutions. The associate will work closely with the Sr. Director of Energy and contribute to various projects that align with LACI's mission of fostering an inclusive green economy in Los Angeles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Environment, Policy, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years work experience.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Experience in policy analysis, program management, and/or event management.
  • Knowledge of clean energy market trends, building decarbonization, and distributed energy resources.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Docs, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Flexible, detail-oriented self-starter with a commitment to sustainability.
  • Experience working with multi-stakeholder projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Energy in advancing LACI's Clean Energy Partnership goals.
  • Lead the development of LACI's Clean Energy Partnership Newsletter.
  • Conduct research on policy, business models, workforce, and technology issues in the clean energy market.
  • Track and analyze key energy policies at local, regional, and state levels.
  • Participate in and track technology, policy, and funding developments related to clean energy.
  • Assist in logistics for multi-stakeholder group activities, including scheduling and meeting minutes.
  • Coordinate and execute 'How to Do Business With...' events.
  • Research and generate market landscape reports for Zero Emission Transportation, Clean Energy, and Sustainable Cities.
  • Monitor and disseminate updates in key markets relevant to LACI's mission.
  • Seek and pre-filter new start-ups that align with LACI's mission.
