Reporting to the Director of Academic Advising, the part-time Program Associate functions as the point of contact for the CCHL Student Success Center, supporting major events and programs throughout the year. The Program Associate provides administrative support for Career & Internship Services and Academic Advising in the College for Community Health.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the College for Community Health Student Success Center, responding to inquiries from students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders, and serving as the office’s front desk greeter.
  • Manage the student worker schedule to ensure front desk coverage at all times.
  • Represent CCHL Student Success Center at Open House, Freshman/Transfer Orientation, and other events throughout the year.
  • Assist with social media/web content creation, the production and distribution of promotional materials and mass email communications, and the monitoring of the Center’s Canvas sites.
  • Assist in the facilitation of small group workshops and presentations for both career & internship services and academic advising.
  • Oversee the Handshake system, including approving jobs assigned to our college, answering employer questions, scheduling information sessions, career fairs, and sending out emails and announcements to students regarding upcoming events.
  • Critique cover letters and resumes through Handshake and/or meet with students individually to conduct document reviews.
  • Generate monthly and semester reports from Handshake, 12Twenty, and other systems; assist with the analytics for the end-of-the-year report.
  • Provide bi-weekly/monthly outreach to CCHL UG students regarding drop-ins, important deadlines, events, etc. via Navigate, CCHL email, phone, or text.
  • Document engagement efforts in Navigate.
  • Follow-up with students to ensure connection with referrals and resolution of issues.
  • Assist with data analysis and assessment efforts using university resources like Tableau, Cognos and Qualtrics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college of university in the area of education, human services, English, or related field.
  • Minimum one (1) year of professional experience at a higher education institution.
  • Personable, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), comfortable working with social media and have the ability to quickly learn new applications.
  • Responsible, confident and welcomes the opportunity to make suggestions, contribute ideas and get involved in the programs and services.
  • Ability to work well with people of varied backgrounds and talents.
  • Demonstrate understanding of excellent customer service.
  • Experience in Career Services or Academic Advising.
  • Experience working with Handshake, Navigate, and Banner a plus.
