About The Position

The Program Assistant position at Rutgers University is primarily focused on supporting research activities within the NJMS-Emergency Medicine department. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Completion of NU's IRB CITI training before interacting with participants, with re-certification every 3 years.
  • Proficient in English with excellent listening, communication, and organization skills.
  • Ability to work comfortably with patients and various members of the medical staff.
  • Passion for health equity issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in Spanish.
  • Familiarity with the local community and social service resources.
  • Experience working with patients.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and consent study subjects for clinical research studies.
  • Schedule and conduct interviews with study participants.
  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data from subjects and medical records.
  • Create and manage documents for the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and other study-related activities.
  • Review protocols, informed consent documents, and other necessary documents for IRB review.
  • Abstract data from medical records and enter it onto protocol-specific case report forms and study flow sheets.
  • Maintain thorough and up-to-date records of procedures and analyses using both paper and electronic platforms.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry into research databases and regularly audit for errors.
  • Participate in communications and meetings with principal investigators and study team members to support program development.
  • Collaborate with research project team members and clinical staff.
