What we want The College of Dentistry is looking for a Program Assistant to serve in the Comprehensive Dentistry department. What you need to know Proposed Salary: $21.51 hourly Work Schedule/Location: Located in Dallas, TX, this an on-site role with a typical schedule of Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Dental Student Scheduling Responsible for scheduling patients for D2 - D4 dental students within their group by phone or in person in accordance with prescribed guidelines.
  • Documents in the electronic health record all no show and cancelled appointments.
  • Completes daily confirmations for assigned group.
  • Maintains attendance and track student clinic hours.
  • Enter hours weekly into Axium (Electronic Patient Database).
  • Communication/Patient Records Documents all patient communication on the electronic appointment request and as needed, in the electronic health record.
  • Ensures appropriate documentation should be added to the electronic health record and electronic appointment request and request made for the letters to be created and mailed.
  • Tracks and monitor patient response to letters.
  • Determines the need for contact, warning and close out letters.
  • Confers with patients regarding current charges for procedures.
  • Assists Program Assistants Learns the duties of the program assistants in each of the six group practices and acts as a backup during peak clinic time.
  • This position does not have a group practice to manage but will train with each program assistant who manages a student load of approximately 50 students throughout the academic year.
  • Responsible for a group practice when a program assistant is out sick, on vacation, or running late.
