About The Position
Essential Duties and Responsibilities helping out in classrooms. The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Working under the direction of the classroom teacher to: · Assist individual students with learning tasks assigned by the teacher. · Assist students in small group learning situations as assigned by the classroom teacher. · Supervise seat work while teacher is working with small groups. · Assist the teacher with other instruction-related tasks. · Assist with student supervision outside the classroom in activities such as emergency drills and community based outings. · Assist with any other duties directed by the school administrators as they would relate to instruction of students.
Requirements
- Completed two years of study at an institution of higher education; or
- Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree; or
- Meet a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics (or, as appropriate, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness).
