About The Position

This role is working within University Connected Learning on the Instruction Technology Learning Experience team supporting the University’s goal of expanded online education. We are seeking an innovative and forward-thinking Instructional Technology Assistant to join our team. This role will play a crucial part in shaping the future of online education through promoting the use of technology-based resources in teaching and learning and aids faculty, students, and staff related to the editing, design, production, and instructional technology of online curriculum development. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), plus two years of related experience required
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to prioritize tasks
  • Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field may be preferred.
  • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet software, and/or database software preferred

Responsibilities

  • Understands instructional design and technology, best practices, and copyright issues for effective participation in online efforts.
  • Partners with instructional designers, faculty members, and other team members on the curriculum development process and allocation of resources.
  • Recognizes advantages, disadvantages, and feasibility of various methods of instruction specific to course content.
  • Acquires copyright permission through the Copyright Clearinghouse Center or rights holders as needed.
  • Edits hard copies of faculty manuscripts for print-based courses and electronic content for online courses.
  • Establishes and maintains project management protocols for course development and production.
  • Develops and implements evaluation techniques to measure appropriateness and effectiveness of course content, materials, teaching activities, and technologies.
  • Reviews courses thoroughly and updates/revises appropriately.
