About The Position

MENTOR Adult Day Health, a member of the Sevita family, provides day programs for elders with complex medical or rehabilitative needs. This allows seniors to obtain quality healthcare while remaining active and involved in the community and continuing to live in their own homes. Our programs are staffed with qualified, experienced licensed nurses and caregivers who are trained to provide individual assistance to each person we serve. Program Assistant – Adult Day Care Location: Rainbow Terrace Adult Day Center Address: 9135 Guilford Rd Ste 100 Columbia, MD 21046 Schedule: Monday–Friday | Part Time | 9am-2pm Wage: $16/hour No weekends. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; must be 18 years or older.
  • Minimum one year of experience providing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, preferably with older adults.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.
  • Reliable, responsible, and compassionate attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily care for health-impaired older adults and individuals with brain injuries, intellectual/developmental disabilities, emotional/behavioral disabilities, or mental health diagnoses.
  • Help develop and implement individual and group activity programs focused on social, recreational, and safety needs.
  • Provide guidance on social skills, advocacy, self-esteem, and strategies for independent living.
  • Transport individuals to medical appointments, errands, shopping, and community activities.
