The Program Assistant at Seniors Resource Center is responsible for supporting on-site services that assist older adults living independently in their homes. This role focuses on providing routine care, assisting with activities of daily living, and ensuring a positive dining experience for participants. The Program Assistant will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to enhance the independence and quality of life for seniors in the Metro Denver Area.

  • Set up the dining room for lunch and manage lunch count and client diets.
  • Assist with meal service and clean up the dining room after meals.
  • Follow the plan of care and assist participants with activities of daily living, including eating and toileting.
  • Document care provided in accordance with established policies and regulations.
  • Participate in care planning through cooperation with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor participants' health status by taking vital signs and weights as needed.
  • Assist participants with restorative and supportive care such as ambulating and transferring.
  • Report any variances, accidents, or unusual occurrences to appropriate personnel.
  • Attend in-service and continuing education programs as scheduled.
  • Create and participate in group and one-on-one activities according to the daily activity calendar.
  • High School Diploma or GED - Required
  • Bachelor's degree in gerontology, recreation, social services, nursing, rehabilitation or related fields - Highly Desired
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) card or ability to obtain one upon employment - Required
  • Experience in a care setting for the frail and cognitively impaired elderly - Highly Desired
  • Smartphone and willingness to learn/use technology - Required
  • 1 year or more working with individuals with Dementia - Highly Desired
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Comprehensive office experience, including Excel and databases.
  • Experience in a care setting for the frail and cognitively impaired elderly
