The Program Assistant will work directly with Texas Farm Bureau Organization Division staff to assist in the planning, organization, and execution of various agricultural programs, activities, and special projects. This role involves developing and designing educational resources for youth outreach, collegiate and leader development programs, performing key administrative tasks for Organization programs and activities, and assisting Organization staff with major programs and projects during each peak season. The assistant will bridge agriculture and education to increase agricultural literacy among students and teachers outside of traditional agriculture classes. Responsibilities also include preparing and presenting information about Texas Farm Bureau Youth Outreach and/or Leader Development programs, organizing components for youth outreach, Young Farmer and Rancher and leadership programs, overseeing registration and administration processes for conferences, programs, workshops, and facilitating the Texas Farm Bureau scholarship program.

  • Develop and design educational resources for youth outreach, collegiate and leader development programs.
  • Perform key administrative tasks for Organization programs and activities.
  • Assist Organization staff with major programs and projects during each peak season.
  • Bridge agriculture and education to increase agricultural literacy among students and teachers.
  • Prepare and present information about Texas Farm Bureau Youth Outreach and/or Leader Development programs.
  • Organize components for youth outreach, Young Farmer and Rancher and leadership programs.
  • Assist in the assembly/disassembly and transport of the Doorways to Ag exhibit and urban outreach program events.
  • Oversee registration and administration processes for conferences, programs, workshops, etc.
  • Facilitate and administer the Texas Farm Bureau scholarship program.
  • Comply with the Certified Fleet operator requirements of the Driving and Safety Policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Recent graduate of an accredited college or university with a major in an agriculture related field.
  • Agricultural education background and experience helpful.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Willing to travel as required and work weekends and after-hours.
  • Organized, flexible, and detail oriented.
  • Strong verbal and written skills required.
  • Valid Texas driver's license and a driving record that meets company standards.
