Under direct supervision with some independence, performs work and administrative duties specific to a department or program. This is a full-time, hourly position, onsite at our South Lake Union location.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Under general supervision, ability to use initiative and sound judgment in carrying out responsibilities
  • Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phone, and in writing in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to use a mouse, navigate computer programs, enter data into computer systems in accurately and efficiently
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, complex healthcare environment
  • Ability to establish professional relationships with patients, families, staff and providers

Responsibilities

  • Manage and triage incoming clinic faxes and notify care teams of record uploads via InBasket or Outlook
  • Upload and/or process patient forms (e.g., FMLA, Disability, parking permits, ferry passes, medical marijuana authorizations)
  • Draft patient-specific letters (e.g., jury duty, housing, appeal requests) for provider review and signature
  • Assist with general administrative tasks (e.g., condolence cards, printing/restocking materials, preparing surgery packets)
  • Route and respond to insurance appeals, billing questions, faxes, and patient forms
  • Coordinate patient transportation as needed
  • Schedule and organize team meetings
  • Manage provider and clinic calendars
  • Prepare and post consult room schedules
  • Support provider and staff assignment coordination
