The Program Analyst position in the Office of the Secretary of Defense focuses on the evaluation of artificial intelligence (AI) and software-reliant systems. The incumbent will represent the office at various professional events to promote innovation in testing and evaluation capabilities.

  • Develop a strategy and implementation plan for evaluating the operational and ethical performance of AI and software-reliant systems.
  • Identify testing and evaluation (T&E) infrastructure, tools, processes, and workforce requirements for AI-based systems.
  • Represent the Department of Operational Test and Evaluation (DOT&E) at conferences, workshops, and peer-reviewed journals to enhance T&E capabilities.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of operational, live fire, and developmental T&E methods.
  • Experience with modeling and simulation tools, data collection, and analysis challenges.
  • Knowledge of modern software engineering and DOD Responsible Artificial Intelligence Strategy.
  • Experience in joint all-domain command-and-control solutions.
  • Expertise in advanced AI and related scientific theories.
